Tools for marble and smalti

Good tools are half the battle. And that also applies to mosaic art!

If you like to make mosaics from smalti and marble, then it is best to use the mosaic hammer (or martellina) and the hardie (or tagliolo). Smalti and marble are too thick and too hard for a mosaic pliers.
And it works much easier! It may sound strange, but with the martellina you can make small corrections much easier than with the pliers!

Of course, it takes practice to cut smalti and marble with the mosaic hammer (martellina) on the hardie (tagliolo). But remember, especially smalti is not a cheap material. That is why it is definitely worth learning the cutting technique. And once you have the bug, you will not want anything else. I can assure you of that!

In Mosaic-atelier Colorito you will find tools for smalti and marble of high quality. We work together with specialized partners.

The mosaic hammers are available in two qualities: widia-widia for smalti and small pieces of marble. And steel-steel for larger pieces of marble. Both have a weight of 950 grams. This is important for a nice cutting result. In addition, we have hardies of steel for a tree trunk and tabletop hardies. These are suitable for both marble and smalti.
