Progress making of Forever 14
In a few steps i will show you the making of the mosaic Forever 14-ode to Johan Cruijff . In reality more steps were needed. But these photo’s will give you a good impression of the progress on this work.
The andamento plan is ready, the first pieces of marble are made. I make the face on a temporary substrate, to glue the final result to a permanent one.
The two eyes are done. Always a nice moment : to look each other in the eye 🙂
The front head and a start on the hair. In the hair i put some pieces of white gold. For extra effect.
He is getting there !
Also the ear is ready. Always tricky, but it seems to be ok.
Almost done and ready for the next important step :
The removal of the temporary substrate. To do this you need to turn the mosaic backward. Luckily it did not break !
The back is strenghtend by mesh. The mosaic is ready to be glued to its permanent substrate.
Now i need to work on the logo’s of Fc Barcelona and Ajax. They will be placed around the portrait.
i sawed the substrate for the logo into the right shape.
